Pacific kicks off the swimming season this Saturday at 1:00 PM when the men's team meets up with Arizona State. The men's team will also compete at California on October 9, with the women's first meet coming at the Pacific Invitational on the weekend of October 23.
The Tigers return three MPSF All-Academic performers from last year in Neil Byers, Jerome Gueguen, and Jared Vu, all of whom are juniors this season. Six seniors return as well for Pacifc: Casey Fleming, Cameron Franke, Georan Meendering, Brandon Presswood, Sheldon Simas, and Lee Ward. In addition to these veterans, Pacific welcomes six true freshmen and two redshirt freshmen in Makoa Haneberg, Shunichi Ichimura, Shelby Lee, Nicholas Nord, Josh Owens, Sam Peckinpah, Max Peterson, and Yahav Shahaff.
Also returning for the Tigers in Cameron Franke, who set the top time for Pacific last season in the 100 Breast at 54.35. Several other top performers are back, as Curtis Klein recorded the second-best time amongst Tigers in the 100 Back and 200 IM at 49.55 and 1:50.84, respectively, and Miles MacKenzie set the second-best time in the 100 Free (44.84).
Arizona State will also be competing in their first meet of the year when they visit Pacific. The Sun Devils have five CSCAA Scholar Athletes on their roster, including first-teamer Hunter Atha. Arizona State's men's team set six records last season, including a team-record 309 overall points in the Pac-12 Championships.
