Princeton, N.J. - Aleksandar Petrovic scored four goals as the No. 5 Pacific men's water polo team thumped Harvard, 21-6, Saturday at the Princeton Invitational. Eleven different Tigers scored for Pacific.
Krisztian Laczkovics chipped in a hat trick while Alex Obert, J.T. Sarmento, and Ben Stevenson, Devon Thumwood and Michael Woodbury each scored twice. Kale Ai, Casey Fleming, Tim Reeves and Ikko Saito also scored for Pacific.
The Tigers improve to 5-1 on the season and have won 48 straight over non-MPSF opponents.
Brady Moore recorded five saves in three quarters of work, while Zach Paxton made a pair of saves in the fourth quarter and picked up two assists.
Pacific tallied twice in the first 1:14 as Stevenson and Petrovic scored 6-on-5 goals. Laczkovics finished a feed from Tim Reeves, and Thumwood set up Obert for a 4-1 lead. Ikko Saito finished the first quarter scoring as Pacific led 5-1 after one.
The Tigers stretched the margin to 8-1 as Petrovic finished twice and set-up a Thumwood 6-on-5 goal. After the Crimson got a goal back, Casey Fleming restored a seven-goal margin. Back-to-back Harvard goals narrowed the gap to 9-4 at the half.
In the third, Laczkovics converted on a feed from Petrovic and Michael Woodbury followed with a goal for an 11-4 lead. Laczkovics and Obert each scored again before Harvard's Grayson Judge picked up a goal. Petrovic' fourth caped the third quarter scoring with the Tigers out in front 14-5.
Woodbury picked up his second, and Kale Ai gave the Tigers a 16-5 lead in the fourth. J.T. Sarmento finished off a pass from Matt McKaig on back-to-back possessions as Pacific led 18-6 with 4:57 to play.
Stevenson and Thumwood each posted their second goals as the Tigers cracked 20, 20-6, with 1:50 left in the fourth. Reeves capped the scoring for Pacific as the Tigers stretched their season goal differential to 50, 88-38.
The Tigers face Iona at 1:30 p.m. Saturday.
