Box Score Stockton, Calif. - The Pacific women's soccer team fell to the Boston College Eagles on Sunday at Knoles Field by a final tally of 6-0. The Tigers fall to 1-3 on the young season in defeat while the visitors improve to 3-1, leaving California with a split.
Pacific trailed 1-0 at the intermission break as McKenzie Meehan opened the scoring in the 17th minute for the Eagles, taking a corner kick from Lauren Berman and hammering home a goal. Boston College added five goals in the second half, as Meehan got on the board with two more goals, including a penalty kick conversion. Hayley Dowd, Rosie Dimartino and Carly Leipzig also scored for the visitors.
Pacific had great chances to get on the scoreboard in the latter part of the second half as Jessica Fogel had a 73rd minute rocket hit the crossbar and Samia Adam tested BC goalkeeper Alex Johnson in the 78th minute with a shot that looked destined for the back of the net before it was barely corralled on the goal line.
The Tigers were paced by Lily Higashino who fired two shots. In total, 10 different players recorded strikes for the Orange and Black. Freshman goalkeeper Regan Heslop finished with nine saves, a new career high in her second start between the pipes.
Pacific will return to action on Sunday, September 6th vs. North Dakota State. The match is slated for a 7:00 pm kickoff on Knoles Field. Admission is free for all Pacific Soccer home matches.
