Spokane, Wash. – The Pacific women's tennis team dropped a 5-2 decision at Gonzaga on Friday, March 27. The Tigers dropped 7-7 overall and 1-2 in West Coast Conference play, while Gonzaga improves 11-3 overall, and 2-1 in WCC action.

The Tigers took the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and No. 3.  Iveta Masarova secured a point in singles play, winning 6-4, 7-6, and 7-2, but Gonzaga took the match. She was the only Tiger to win at singles and doubles.

"The Tigers fought hard today but unfortunately it wasn't enough to beat the Gonzaga team." said Head Coach Charlotte Scatliffe, "This loss really hurts as we felt confident heading into the match and taking the doubles point. We've been strong in singles all year and that was evident with four of our five losses in singles going to three sets. It just didn't go our way today but we did lots of positive things out on court and look forward to the challenge against Portland tomorrow to improve upon both our strengths and our weaknesses."

The Tigers are next in action on the road against No. 67 Portland on Saturday, March 28.  The match is set for 11:00 a.m. at the Louisiana-Pacific Tennis Center.
