Fullerton, Calif. - The Pacific Women's Tennis team won another 4-3 decision, this time at Cal State Fullerton on Saturday, Feb. 28. The Tigers improved to 5-2 on the season, while the Titans dropped to 5-6.
The match was played a little differently than usual, with the singles matches played first. Iveta Masarova, Antonella Santeusanio and Francis Dean getting singles wins to match the three singles wins by the Titans. The match was then decided by doubles, with Pacific getting wins from Masarova and Hana Ritterova at No. 1 and Santeusanio teaming with Regina Suarez to get the clinching victory at No. 3.
"We did it again!" said Head Coach Charlotte Scatliffe. "Our ladies competed hard today and really went out to accomplish our two set team goals. We started with singles first and it come down to Iveta who was able to come back from 2-4 down to win the third set 6-4. This gave us a chance to go in to doubles to win the match and our ladies did just that. Antonella and Regina played really solid and confident doubles and Hana and Iveta went out with some fire and played well to clinch it for the team."
