Bloomington, Ind. – In the first day of Pacific's final meet before the New Year, the Tigers took to the pool for the Men's 50 Free. It was the only event Pacific competed in Thursday. The meet will continue tomorrow morning with prelims at 8:00 am, with live stats available via the Pacific website. Finals for tomorrow's events will begin at 3:00 pm.
Miles MacKenzie kept up a strong season in the pool with a fourth-place finish in the 50 Free prelims, finishing in a time of 23.74. Mitchell Ongstad ended with a time of 24.03. Georan Meendering, Pacific's third and final entrant in the 50 Free, swam a 24.36 in the prelims.
In the finals, Ongstad put up the best time for the Tigers this year, finishing in 20.43. MacKenzie finished just one spot behind Ongstad at 20.60, a time that was the third-best of any Tiger so far. Meendering's time of 21.17 was tied for the fifth-fastest 50 Free time for Pacific.
