Elman Takes Home All-WCC First Team Honors

San Bruno, Calif. - Living up to the high expectations set in preseason, junior Lexi Elman was named to the All-West Coast Conference First Team as announced by the conference office on Tuesday, Dec. 1. Elman joined 11 other WCC student-athletes to earn the conference's top honor which was voted on by the 10 conference head coaches. For Elman, the award marked the third-straight season the Tiger standout was named to an All-WCC team after earning all-freshman honors in 2013 and honorable mention honors in 2014.

In a season in which the offense was turned over to the junior as the lead arm, the Nebraska native did not dissapoint as Elman took a leap to the next level as one of the best attackers in the country. In 30 matches, Elman produced 493 kills (4.36 kills per set), the 10th most in a single season in Pacific's storied history. In addition to her rank among the all-time greats, Elman's production ranked 17th among all Division I players following the end of the regular season. Scoring points from all over the court, Elman also tallied a team best 43 service aces while posting 562 points (4.97 points per set) on the year. Not forgetting about her defense and passing, Elman finished the year with 300 digs (2.65 digs per set), second-most on the team only behind Pacific's starting libero, Katrin Gotterba. She finished the year with a team-best 15 double-doubles, a total that ranked third overall in the WCC and second among attackers.

In all, Elman took home one WCC Player of the Week award as the junior earned the weekly honor on Sept. 26 after leading the Tigers' to the Creighton Bluejay Invitational title in her hometown of Omaha. In all three tournament's the Tigers played to start the year Elman was named to the all-tournament team while being awarded the Bluejay Invitational MVP for her efforts. 

As a team, the Tigers finished the season 17-13 overall and tied for fifth in the West Coast Conference.
