Pacific's trip to Sac State, where they will play the Hornets on Sunday evening, marks the first time the Tigers have traveled up the I5 to their local rival since the 2008 season when Pacific defeated Sac State, 70-51. The last meeting between the two sides was in 2009 when the Tigers took down the Hornets, 79-41, in Stockton. The Tigers have dominated the all-time series with the Hornets having won 31 of 38 meetings including going 10-4 in Sacramento. Both teams are looking to rebound from losses on the opening day of the Sacramento State Invitational on Saturday evening as the Hornets (4-1) suffered their first loss of the season, 96-90, to South Dakota while the Tigers fell to Eastern Washington, 70-63, in the nightcap.

Last time out ...

In a game that saw eight lead changes in the second half, the Tigers fell on the wrong side of the final flip of the scoreboard as the Eastern Washington held off Pacific late to capture a 70-63 contest on Saturday night. The game marked the first-ever matchup between the two teams and marked the first game of the Sacramento State Invitational for each side as Pacific fell to 1-4 on the year while the Eagles improved to 3-2. The Eagles scored on their final 10 possessions to put the Tigers away after the game was tied at 49-49 with just seven minutes to play in the game. Pacific would put three in double-figures in the game as Ray Bowles scored a team-best 13 points before fouling out. All 13 came in the second half as he went 4-for-12 from the floor and 5-for-5 from the line. T.J. Wallace and Maleke Haynes would each come up with 11 points while Wallace tallied eight rebounds to lead all players on the glass.
