San Diego, Calif. - The Pacific women's tennis team dropped a 4-1 decision at San Diego on Friday, March 7. The Tigers fell to 4-4 and 0-1 in West Coast Conference action, while the Toreros improved to 3-7 overall, 1-1 in WCC play.

"We got off to a slow start in doubles today which always makes going into singles a bit more difficult," said Pacific Head Coach Charlotte Scatliffe. "We showed some signs of fight and competitiveness in singles and Francis Dean was able to come away with a victory. The match was stopped once USD clinched the win but our last two matches were pretty close and could have gone either way. We wil now turn our attention and focus to our match against our former Big West rivals Cal Poly tomorrow and will work on coming out with a strong start for doubles. "

Francis Dean won in singles action, while Iveta Masarova and Daria Labintseva were in close matches that were not finished.

Pacific is next in action at Cal Poly on Saturday, March 8 at 11:00 a.m.
