Box Score Stockton, Calif. - The Pacific women's soccer team dropped a 4-0 decision at home to No. 15 Brigham Young University on Saturday, Nov. 1 at Knoles Soccer Field. The Tigers dropped to 2-15-1, 0-8-0 in West Coast Conference play, while BYU improved to 13-3-3, 7-0-1 in WCC play. With the win, BYU clinched the WCC title.
"BYU played very well tonight and they deserve the league title," said Tiger Head Coach Keith Coleman. "It was great to honor our seniors before the match tonight, they will be missed."
The Cougars took a 1-0 lead on a goal by Ashley Hatch at 23:33, and made it 2-0 at 38:54 on a goal by Nadia Gomes. BYU led 2-0 at halftime, out-shooting the Tigers 13-2 in the opening 45 minutes. Hatch added another goal in the second half, along with a goal by Jaiden Thornock.
The Tigers had six shots in the contest, with four coming in the second half. Carly Marietti had a pair of shots, while Alex Hussar, Sasha Moscatello, Matti Long and Taylor Ayers each added lone shots.
Goalkeeper Jacqueline Kane had a caree-high 13 saves for the Tigers.
The Tigers are next in action with a road game at USF on Saturday, Nov. 8 at 1:00 p.m. The Tigers honored Malaya Cabrera, Liz Higashino, Jacqueline Kane, Mirella Mattos, Sasha Moscatello and Nicole Penick before the contest, as they played in their final home game.
