Pacific Men Back in the Pool to Begin Second Half

Back in the pool after a one month layoff, the Tiger swim team heads to Stanford to take on the Cardinal on Saturday, Jan. 11. The men will be the first back to action for Pacific as the Tigers meet the perennial power at Avery Aquatic Center at 11:00 am for a dual meet.

The Tigers last were in the pool at the Arena Invite in Los Angeles, Calif. at the end of November as they finished third at the three-day event. Leading the way at the meet was senior Oliver Simkovic who posted the fifth best individual score at the invitational. Simkovic won the 200 IM for the Tigers during the meet and also took home big points in the 200 Back.

In addition to their performance at the Arena Invite, the Tigers enter the new year ranked No. 8 in the CollegeSwimming.com mid-major poll. The Mid-Major Rankings serve to provide an objective point system to compare teams that do not benefit from large scale football or basketball conferences or those teams that provide fewer than one-half of the allowable scholarships under the NCAA rules.
