Lorenzo McCloud hit a three and a driving layup to make it a 6-5 Wolfpack lead with 16:03 to play in the half. After a three-pointer from junior
Markus Duran cut it to 9-8, Nevada went on an 8-0 run to take a 17-8 lead with 11:21 to play in the half. A quick 5-0 spurt capped by another trey from Duran took it back to a four-point game (17-13). The Wolfpack then outscored Pacific 13-0 over the next five and a half minutes to pull ahead 30-13 with 5:03 to go. A free throw by sophomore
Khalil Kelley made it 35-18 with 2:26 left. The Wolfpack ended the half on a 14-2 run to lead 49-20 at the break. Nevada shot 69.2% (18-26) from the field, including 72.7% (8-11) from three-point range. The Tigers were just 7-30 from the field (23.3%) in the first 20 minutes, hitting just three of 14 three-pointers.
After Nevada opened up 60-24 lead with 16:04 left, the Tigers went on a 20-4 run over the next nine minutes to make it 64-44 with 7:14 to play. Sophomore Trevin Harris and De Souza each had five points in the run. The Wolfpack pushed the lead back to 28 (78-50) before the Tigers scored the final four points of the game.
Nevada shot a blistering 58.3% (28-48) from the field and hit 10 of 22 three-point attempts. Pacific shot just 31.3% (21-67) from the field. The Tigers scored 23 points off of turnovers, forcing 25 turnovers.
McCloud led the Tigers with 11 points, while De Souza added 10 points. Kelley had six rebounds to lead Pacific. Nevada's Malik Story led the team with 18 points.
The Tigers are next in action at home on Monday, Nov. 21 against Cal State Dominguez Hills. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
