Stockton, Calif. - Three Tigers finishing in double-digits were not enough as the Pacific women's basketball team dropped its first of two conference games this weekend to Cal State Fullerton 65-56, Thursday evening at home in the Alex G. Spanos Center.

Pacific fell to 5-22 overall, 3-12 in the Big West with the loss. The Titans improved to 14-15 overall, 8-7 in the Big West.

Sophomore Eliza Dy (Chino Hills, Calif.) led Pacific with 15 points while sophomore Christina Thompson (Sacramento, Calif.) chipped in 13 of her own and pulled down six rebounds. Senior Emma Head (San Diego, Calif.) earned her second double-double of the season with 10 points and a game-high 12 rebounds.

Unsuccessful from beyond the arc, Pacific went 0-for-15 from three point range for over 21 minutes in the contest.

"The three's we took were good three's," said Head Coach Lynne Roberts. "We just missed shots."

The Tigers trailed by as much as 16 (41-57) in the second half after Megan Richardson hit a three for the Titans with 5:44 on the clock. Pacific then went on a 10-0 rally to pull within six (57-51) with 2:42 remaining in the contest.

Coach Roberts called a 30 second timeout with a 1:55 left in the game after a missed rebound by the Titans gave Pacific possession under their own basket with the chance to pull within four. But miscue on the inbounds play gave Cal State Fullerton the steal and they began an 8-0 run to pull away for the win.

Dy hit the Tigers only three with just under 18 seconds to play in the contest to make the score 65-54.

"I think we jut missed easy baskets and we kind of let that dictate how hard we played," added Roberts. "We just left too many points on the table."

Pacific will face Cal State Northridge this Saturday, March 6 in its final home game of the season. With the Matadors dropping their game to UC Davis on Thursday night (62-53), the Tigers secured their place in the Big West Conference Tournament. The two teams were tied in the conference heading into Thursday's games, but Pacific now holds the tie-break over Northridge.

Roberts stated, "We're pleased to get into the tournament, but we still want to play on Saturday and gain some momentum. We want to beat Northridge. We're glad that it's not a play in game on Saturday, but that doesn't take away from our desire to win that game."

Game time is set for 4 p.m. and will be senior day in the Alex G. Spanos Center. Athletes recognized will include Head and fellow senior Jasmine Dana (Bakersfield, Calif.).
