Pacific Men's and Women's Swim Teams In Third Place After Second Day at Big West Championships

Long Beach, Calif. - Senior Matt Lundy (Lafayette, Colo.) highlighted the second day of competition at the Big West Championships for the Pacific men's swim team as the Tigers sit in third place following action on Thursday, Feb. 26.

Lundy led the team with a second place finish in the men's 500 free. Lundy's time of 4:26.67 was 2.17 seconds behind UC Davis' Alex Arbios championship time of 4:24.50.

The Pacific women's team also finds themselves in third place as freshman Jayme Swalin (Kenmore, Wash.) capped the action by claiming the first event of the day, the women's 500 Free in a time of 4:50.95. Swalin earned the event championship by just under four seconds, 3.8 seconds better than Cal Poly's Lacey Buck.

Thursday's action featured five events for women and four for the men. The women's teams concluded action in the 1M Diving, 500 Free, 200 IM, 50 Free and the 400 Medley Relay. The men did not conclude any action in diving.

Other highlights for the Tigers on Thursday included senior Jenny Lewis (Hesperia, Calif.) collected a second place finish in the 50 Free with a time of 22.69, meeting the NCAA B-cut minimum and earning consideration to compete in the NCAA Championships. Meanwwhile junior Devoine Migues (Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif.) placed third in the 200 IM with a time of 2:02.56.

Lundy, Swalin and the Tigers return to action on Friday, Feb. 27 in the third day of action at the Big West Championships in Long Beach, Calif.
