Stillwater, Okla. - The Pacific men's basketball team dropped a 66-50 decision at Oklahoma State on Tuesday, December 29. The Tigers are now 7-5 on the year, while Oklahoma State improved to 11-1.

After an early 4-4 tie, the Cowboys took a 10-4 lead four and a half minutes into the game after a 6-0 spurt. After a three-point play by junior Sam Willard (Pierre, S.D.), the Cowboys outscored Pacific 14-1 over a six minute span to take a 24-8 lead with 9:35 to play in the half. After a three-pointer by junior Pat Eveland (San Diego, Calif.) made it 29-15, Oklahoma State ended the half with an 11-1 to take a commanding 40-16 lead at the break.

The Tigers opened the second half on an 8-0 run, getting a layup from Willard, a three-pointer from junior Demetrece Young (Oklahoma City, Okla.) and a three-point play from senior Joe Ford (Altadena, Calif.) to cut the lead to 40-24. After Oklahoma State took the lead back up to 20 (46-26), the Tigers got four points from senior Michael Nunnally (Stockton, Calif.) as part of a 14-1 run to make it 47-40 with 10:13 to go. It was as close as the Tigers would get, however, as the Cowboys extended the lead back to double-digits as close it out for the victory.

Willard had 15 points and 11 rebounds for his second double-double of the season. Nunnally added 10 points, while Ford had nine points and tied his career high with nine rebounds. The Tigers held a 38-32 rebounding advantage, including 12 second chance points.

The Tigers open league play on Saturday, Jan. 2 with a home game against Cal State Northridge. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m. in the Spanos Center.
