Stockton, Calif. - The Pacific men's swim team completed day two of the Pacific Invitational in fifth place of six teams. In the first men's event of the day, the men's 200 Free Relay teams touched the wall in 1:30.59 and 1:32.41 for the ninth and tenth place spots.
Sophomore Kevin Byers (Puyallup, Wash.) recorded the fastest time in the 100 Back (54.74) for the Tigers. In his second event of the day Byers swam the 200 IM in 2:01.70.
In the 500 Free junior Aljaz Ojstersek (Ljubljana, Slovenia) rounded out the top 15 touching the wall in 4:49.75. Senior Patrick Walton (Lodi, Calif.) completed the 500 free in 4:48.57.
Senior Kyle Accornero (Livermore, Calif.) recoded Pacific's best time of the day in the 100 Free (49.38). In the 200 Back, Byers just missed a top 10 finish with a time of 1:58.20. Juniors Tyler Hannis (Santa Rosa, Calif.), Daniel Platow (Westporn, Conn.) and Chris Berg (Chico, Calif.) touch the wall with times of 2:01.39, 2:05.71 and 2:06.79 respectively. Freshman Jonathan Kim (Bakersfield, Calif.) completed the event in 2:08.01.
For Pacific in the 100 Butterfly junior David Hernandez (Chico, Calif.) picked up the Tigers fastest time (56.21) with seniors Accornero and David Mathews (Dublin, Ireland) touching the wall with back-to-back finishes with times of 56.43 and 56.96.
