Hammarstrom Paces the Tigers at Stanford Invitational

Sept. 27, 2008

Stanford, Calif.- The Pacific women's cross country team competed in the 6K event at the Stanford Invitational on Saturday September 27, at Stanford University. Four Tigers completed the race, despite the severely high temperatures.

Battling the blazing heat, the Tigers held on to compete with some of the nation's elite running programs on Saturday. Sophomore Kristina Hammarstrom (Manteca, Calif.) led Pacific with a 183rd place finish and a time of 24:38 in the race. Senior Meghan Mullen (South San Francisco, Calif.) finished right behind Hammarstrom in 240th place with a time of 26:17. Freshman Jazmin Quiroz (San Jose, Calif.) finished her first collegiate race as a Tiger.

Due to only four runners completing the race, Pacific did not qualify for a team result or finish.

Pacific Individual Results (6K):

Kristina Hammarstrom - 24:38 (183rd)
Meghan Mullen - 26:17 (240th)
Jazmin Quiroz - 28:43 (269th)
Devon Blount - 29:33 (272nd)
