Tigers Give a Solid Performance in First Meet of the Season

San Francisco, Calif.- The Pacific women's cross country team participated in their first meet of the season on Saturday Aug. 30 at the USF XC Invitational. Senior Micaela Klaus and sophomore Kristina Hammarstrom competed for the Tigers at the meet.

Running for individual times, Klaus led the Tigers with a 27th place finish in the 5K race. Her time of 19:20.8, was close to her best finishing time of last season in a 5,000 meter event, which was a 19:13 at the USF Invitational.

Hammarstrom was the only other runner for Pacific at the meet, and she finished in 44th place with a time of 20:11.9, only seconds off of her career best 5K time.

The Tigers gave a solid performance on Saturday, competing against national powerhouses such as UC Berkeley, and the 2007 NCAA Champions, Stanford.

27th- Micaela Klaus - 19:20.80
44th- Kristina Hammarstrom - 20:11.90

Pacific's next meet is on Sept. 13, at the Mills Invitational in Oakland, Calif.
