SEATTLE (AP) - Quincy Pondexter had 16 points and 12 rebounds to lead Washington to a 72-54 victory over Pacific Saturday.
The Huskies (3-3) were ahead by 10 points at halftime and built their lead to 47-30 with 14:16 to go. The Tigers closed to within 48-39, but the Huskies broke out on a 16-8 run for a 64-47 lead with 5:02 left.
Justin Dentmon, who had 15 points, finished the run with a steal, then fed the ball to freshman Isaiah Thomas for a fast-break basket.
Pondexter, a junior forward, recorded the third double-double of his career. Jon Brockman, Washington's leading scorer and rebounder, added 13 points and six rebounds. Pacific (2-2) packed the inside with an effective zone against Brockman.
Terrell Smith led a balanced Pacific attack with 12 points.
