Micaela Klaus, Kristina Hammarstrom Pace Pacific For Ninth-Place Finish

San Francisco, Calif. - Senior Micaela Klaus (Peru, N.Y.) finished in the top 20 during the San Francisco State Invitational to lead the Pacific women's cross country team in its ninth-place finish overall. Klaus crossed the finish line with a time of 23:17 on Oct. 10.

The Tigers surpassed Academy of Art and Cal State Monterey Bay in the 6k race, Taking first overall in the Invitational was St. Thomas, followed by Chico State and San Jose State to round out the top three.

The only other Pacific runner to finish above 40th place was sophomore Kristina Hammarstrom (Manteca, Calif.), who turned in a 24:23 performance. The overall field comprised of 10 teams, entering 109 overall runners.

Pacific returns to action next weekend, when the Tigers will race in the Bronco Invitational hosted by Santa Clara University on Oct. 18. The race is slated for a 9 a.m. start.
