Stockton, Calif. - At home for the first time in the 2007-08 season the Pacific women's basketball team ran to an impressive 96-55 win over Cal State Stanislaus on Tuesday, November 13. The win improved the Tigers to 2-0 on the season marking the first time since the 1993-94 season Pacific has started a season 2-0.

Pacific's 96 points is the highest single game total for the Tigers since their 98-95, double overtime, win over Long Beach State on February 23, 1994.

Up 43-22 at half time, the Tigers picked up the pace in the second half as they poured in 53 points in the final 20:00 minutes of the contest to pull away for the 41 point win. In addition to her own scoring, VanHollebeke dished out six assists in her home debut leading the way as the Tigers posted 21 assists on 37 made field goals in the game. Defensively, VanHollebeke picked up three steals and grabbed four rebounds for the Tigers.

Junior Janae Young (Sacramento, Calif.) dropped in 14 points in her second game for Pacific, scoring 10 second half points. Young sat out much of the first half due to foul trouble after being whistled for her third foul of the contest just 7:23 into the game. Young's aggressive play, however, would flourish in the second half as she picked up three steals in the final period of play. The Tigers posted 13 steals in the contest as they forced the Warriors into 30 turnovers in the game.

Young grabbed eight rebounds as well for the Tigers in 15 minutes of action.

While VanHollebeke and Young controlled the outside, freshman Andrea Swanson (Littleton, Colo.) and sophomore Emma Head (San Diego, Calif.) dominated the paint for Pacific as the duo combined to score 29 points. The Tigers posted 52 points in the paint while also tallying 20 fastbreak points.

Swanson posted her first double-double of her young career as she scored 16 points and grabbed 11 rebounds, including six offensive rebounds. Swanson added four assists on the offensive end of the floor while defensively posting two blocks and three steals.

Of the Tigers' 54 rebounds, 23 came on the offensive end of the floor. Pacific was plus-26 on the boards for the night against the Warriors.
