The Pacific's men basketball team defeated Cal State Stanislaus 81-59 in an exhibition game on Thursday, Nov. 1 at the Alex G. Spanos Center in Stockton, Calif.
The Tigers took control of the game near the midway point of the first half, using a 29-9 run over the final 12 minutes to take a 46-25 halftime lead.
Cal State Stanislaus cut the Tiger lead to 10 with 12:31 left in the game after three straight three-pointers, but the Tigers responded with another late boost to secure the victory. It was a 17-5 run for Pacific over the next seven minutes to get the lead back to 24 (74-50).
Pacific had four players in double figures, led by junior Chad Troyer (Seattle, Wash) with 14 points. Junior Michael Kirby (North Highlands, Calif.) scored 11 points with three steals. Juniors Anthony Brown (Sacramento, Calif.) and Steffan Johnson (Kent, Wash.) each added 10 points for the Tigers.
The Tigers out-rebounded the Warriors 47-34, led by Michael Nunnally's (Stockton, Calif.) eight boards.
Duane Jones led Cal State Stanislaus with 19 points.
Pacific is next in action on Sunday, Nov. 4 with a 4:30 p.m. game against Alaska-Anchorage.
