Reno, Nevada- The Pacific Tigers fell to 1-4 on the year after suffering a 3-0 defeat at the hands of the Nevada Wolfpack on Sunday, September 3rd.

The game scores for the match were: 25-30, 25-30, 30-32. With the victory, Nevada improves their record to 4-1 on the season.

In game one, Nevada got out to a 11-8 lead early before letting the Tigers back into the game with three consecutive errors to tie the score at 11-11. The Wolfpack then scored eight of the next 11 points, forcing a Pacific timeout at 19-14 Nevada. Pacific came out of the time out reenergized as freshman Meagan MimMack (Upland, Calif.) had two kills sandwiched around a kill by junior Kara Uhl (Cypress, Calif.) and a Wolfpack attack error pulled the Tigers to within one at 19-18. Nevada answered with a timeout of their own and went on to outscore the Tigers 11-7 the rest of the way to take game one.

Game two started out much the same way as the Wolfpack came out firing out of the gates, amassing a 20-12 lead on Pacific. The Tigers clawed their way back late in the game, forcing a string of three straight attack errors to pull back to within six at 26-20. Nevada overcame two service errors late to finally put the Tigers away at 30-25.

Pacific again found itself trailing most of the way in game three before mounting a strong charge late. With the Nevada advantage at 19-14, junior Johanna Hilbers (Omaha, Neb.) and Uhl combined for back-to-back kills to pull Pacific to within three. Later, with the score 21-18, the duo again provided a kill apiece to pull the Tigers to within one at 21-20. With the Tigers trailing 24-22, senior Jennifer Knox (Macungie, Penn.) provided a big kill for the Tigers which, combined with a Wolfpack attack error, tied the score at 24-24. Nevada then pulled ahead at 28-26 before the Tigers fought back as Hilbers and freshman setter Dancyne Kama (Hilo, Hawai'i) combined for a block. Then, after a Nevada attack error, sophomores Alexa Anderson (Los Gatos, Calif.) and Natalia Tomaszewska (Marklowice, Poland) got in on the block party to give the Tigers a 29-28 advantage. Nevada was able to fend off the Tigers game point opportunity with back-to-back kills to give them match point at 30-29. Tomaszewska then tied the score back at 30-30 with a kill, but the Wolfpack closed out the match with two straight kills by Teal Ericson to win the game 32-30.

Hilbers led the Tigers with 13 kills, hitting an impressive .500 with only one error in 24 attacks. Uhl had 11 kills, and the junior duo was named to the All-Tournament team.

Ericson had a match-high 21 kills to lead the Wolfpack, who outhit the Tigers .273 to .200.
