STOCKTON, Calif. - The Pacific women's volleyball team suffered a narrow five-game loss to the University of Montreal in the championship match of the Asics Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 15, at the Alex G. Spanos Center.
Game scores for the match were: 31-29,19-30,30-27,29-31,15-17
The two teams were very evenly matched as the contest featured 48 ties and 23 lead changes over five games. Four of the five games in the match were decided by three points or less.
Sophomore Alexa Anderson (Los Gatos, Calif.) led the way for Pacific with 23 kills, while junior Johanna Hilbers (Omaha, Neb.) finished with 14 kills. Junior Julie Magud (Stockton, Calif.) led Pacific defensively with 23 digs.
Laetitia Tchoualack led the Carabins with 20 kills and 22 digs.
The Tigers had three representatives on the Asics Invitational All-Tournament team as Anderson, Hilbers and Magud were joined by Montreal's Eva Grenier-Lesperance and Myrium Aboumerhi as well as Yale's Alexis Crusey.
The Asics Invitational Tournament MVP was Montreal's Laetitia Tchoualack.
Pacific will be back in action on Thursday, Sept. 21 as the Tigers host Cal State Fullerton at 7 p.m. in the Alex G. Spanos Center. It will be the Big West Conference opener for both teams.
