The Pacific men's golf team kicks off their spring season today and tomorrow at the Rice Intercollegiate in Houston, Texas.
Led by junior Thomas Petersson and sophomore Chris Rosenau the Pacific men's golf team opens their spring season at the Rice Intercollegiate today in Houston, Texas. The Tigers play two rounds today at the Willowisp Country Club and conclude the final round tomorrow, February 7, at the par 70, 6,700-yard course.
Individuals begin the first round at 8:00 am (Central time) this morning and begin their second round this afternoon. The 14-team tournament picks up with the final 18-holes tomorrow morning.
Petersson led the Tigers during the 2005 fall season with a 74.4 stroke average in 15 rounds while Rosenau shot a 74.9 in five tournaments. The Tigers best team finish came at the Bill Cullum Intercollegiate as they ended in fourth place out of 13 teams. Individually, senior Gordian Curtius carded a 217 (for third place) at the same tournament. The low round of the fall season came at the hands of Petersson (68) in the Cullum Intercollegiate.
After the Rice Intercollegiate the Tigers are off for two weeks until the continue play at the Anteater Invitational in Irvine, California. Pacific also will play the Braveheart Classic in March 6-7, the Oregon Duck Invitational on March 27-28.
