Stockton, Calif. - The Pacific baseball team fell 5-2 to the UCLA Bruins in the first game of a doubleheader, Saturday, February 18, at Stockton Ballpark.

The Tigers put up the first run of the game after the Bruins committed three errors in the bottom of the first inning. With Jake Ross on second and Adam Ching on third, Ramon Glasgow hit a sacrifice fly to centerfield, scoring Ching.

Behind the pitching of senior Luke Massetti the Tigers held their lead until the top of the fourth inning when the Bruins scored two unearned runs to take a 2-1 lead. Pacific tied it up in the fifth inning as sophomore Justin Baum walked, advanced to second on a wild pitch and scored as Glasgow singled down the third base line.

However UCLA regained their lead in the bottom of the sixth as Ambriz led off the inning by doubling to deep center. Two batters later Jermaine Curtis singled to left center, scoring Ambriz from second.

The Bruins added a run in each of the last two innings, ending the first game of the doubleheader 5-2. Ambriz of UCLA was the winning pitcher and Massetti was dealt the loss while UCLA's Brant Rustich was credited with the save.
