Tigers Fall at No. 4 Wisconsin, 83-47

Madison, Wis. - The Pacific men's basketball team dropped an 83-47 decision at No.Wisconsin on Saturday, December 23. The Tigers fell to 3-9 on the season, while the Badgers improved to 12-1.

The Tigers missed four of their first five shots of the first half, while the Badgers hit 9 of 10 to take an 18-4 lead with 12:24 remaining. The Tigers cut the lead to nine, but Wisconsin extended back out to a 36-24 halftime lead.

Pacific outscored the Badgers 5-2 to start the second half, trimming the lead to less than double figures for the last time. Wisconsin used a 13-4 run to push a 10 point lead to 54-35 with 11:35 left in the game. An 18-4 run over the next five minutes gave Wisconsin a 72-39 led with 6:15 remaining and the Badgers would cruise from there.

Sophomore Steffan Johnson scored 16 points to lead the Tigers.

Wisconsin shot a season-high 81.3% from the free throw line, as the Tigers were just 6-of-11. Pacific was out-rebounded 40-21.

The Badgers were led by Kammron Taylor's 17 points.

Pacific is next in action against Cal State Northridge on December 30 at 7:00 p.m. in the Spanos Center.
