Tigers Finalize 2005-06 Roster With The Addition Of Price

Stockton, Calif. - The Pacific women's basketball program and Head Coach Craig Jackson have the announced the signing of Whitney Price (Las Vegas, Calif.) for the 2005-06 basketball season. Price becomes the final signee for the Tigers for the upcoming season joining Jerise Freeman (Wichita, Kan.), Samantha Hart (Scotts Valley, Calif.), Sara Head (Keller, Texas), Ashley Jones (Omaha, Neb.), Wyvonne Jones (Wichita, Kan.), Renee Roberts (Lodi, Calif.) and Brittany White (Thornton, Colo.).

Price comes to Pacific after a distinguished career at Centennial High School in Las Vegas, Nevada. She is reunited with assistant coach Karen Weitz, who left Centennial High school to join the Tigers earlier in the summer, after leading the Bulldogs to four consecutive Nevada State Championships. During her high school career, Whitney averaged a double-double, posting 10 points and 10 rebounds per game. In addition, Price averaged three assists, three steals and two blocks per game. For her play she was an All-State selection and garnered recognition as a McDonald All-American in 2005. Academically, Price was a four-time scholar athlete and earned the Presidential Award of Academic Excellence. In 2004, she was the recipient of the Nevada Girls All-State Leadership Award.

"We are excited to see what Whitney can do to help our program next season," said Jackson. "Her scoring and rebounding ability will have an immediate impact on the team."
