San Francisco, Calif. - The Pacific women's cross country team finished fourth out of eight teams in the Gator Invitational hosted by San Francisco State University on Saturday, October 1. The Tigers finished with a total time of 2:05:23 while the overall team title was taken by Cal with a time of 1:57:58.
On the day the Tigers were led by their freshman runners as Melody Miles (Marysville, Wash.) finished first for Pacific with a time of 24:22. Miles completed the race in 15th place overall, the best individual finish of the season for the Tigers in 2005.
Behind Miles, a pair of freshman finished in the top-30 as Micaela Klaus (Peru, NY) finished in 24th place with a time of 24:47 and Meghan Mullen (South San Francisco, Calif.) finished in 29th place with a time of 25:02.
The races individual title was taken by Marie Raffray of Cal with a time of 23:00.00. Cal took four of the top-5 places in the race.
The Tigers will next be in action on October 29 at the Big West Championships. as they host the First Annual Pacific Challenge. The race is scheduled to begin at 9:00 am.
