Joey Gullikson enters his sixth year on the Pacific’s water polo staff in 2020-21 as the Associate Head Coach for both men's and women's water polo.
Gullikson assists head coach James Graham in every aspect of the program, with his primary focus being recruiting. Since joining the staff, the Tigers' young talent has racked up multiple All-Golden Coast Conference awards, including numerous GCC Newcomer of the Year and Player of the Year awards. During Gullikson's his time on staff, Pacific has finished both in the top five and on top of the GCC on numerous occasions and took the men's team to new heights this season with a berth in the NCAA national championship match.
Gullikson also spearheads the Pacific Wine & Water Polo annual fundraiser.
He played professionally in Australia 2011-2012 in Canberra and served as an assistant coach for the USA junior national team.
After graduating from Pacific in the spring of 2011 with a degree in Sport Pedagogy, Gullikson served as the head coach for the boys and girls water polo teams at Justin-Siena High School in Napa. He was also the Olympic Development Program Head Coach for the Central Zone 10th grade and younger and the Founder/Director of the Bangarang Water Polo Club, growing the club to over 100 athletes in two years.
Gullikson was a defender on the Pacific men’s water polo team in 2009 and 2010, scoring 65 goals in two seasons with the Orange and Black. He ranked second on the team in scoring as a junior and was one of five 20-goal scorers as a senior. He also racked up 52 assists and 38 steals in his two years.
