Biography
2013 (Redshirt-Sophomore):
Bauer saw limited action early in the season before coming on strong over the second half of the year as one of the Tigers'' outside hitters. She split time on the outside, playing as one of Pacific''s primary attackers in the front row. For the year she posted 112 kills while averaging 1.75 kills per set, but in WCC action she tallied 108 of her kills to average 2.25 per set. Bauer had a season-best performance against Pepperdine on Oct. 10 when she recorded 17 kills, one off of her career high. She posted a pair of double-doubles in conference play as she tallied 13 kills and 13 digs against Saint Mary''s on Oct. 5 while going for 12 kills and 10 digs against BYU on Oct. 24.
2012 (Redshirt-Freshman):
In her first season of action on the court, Bauer proved herself to be a six-rotation player for the Tigers. Coming on late in the year, she finished her inaugural campaign with 132 kills, 99 digs and 32 blocks. She posted a trio of double-doubles on the season as she picked up double-digit kills and digs against Long Beach State, UC Irvine and UC Santa Barbara. Against the Gauchos on Nov. 9, Bauer put together her finest all-around performance of the year as the first-year outside tallied a season-best 18 kills while adding 18 digs and five blocks. Throughout the season, Bauer led the team in kills twice as she posted team highs against UC Santa Barbara (18, Nov. 9) and again against No. 7 Hawai''i (15, Nov. 16).
2011 (Redshirt):
Bauer used her redshirt option in 2011 in her first year at Pacific.
High School/Club:
Playing for her home school of Lycee Schweitzer, Bauer led her team to the 2010 World School Championships in Baotou, Inner Mongolia after taking home the Espoir Pole champions France UNSS title. Lycee Schweitzer also took home the French championship in 2009 during the alternating off year for the world championships. In addition to playing at Lycee Schweitzer, Bauer is a member of the Asptt Mulhouse volleyball club. Playing as a member of the amateur squad, Bauer led the team to a first place finish at the under-17 club championships while taking a second place finish at the under-18 competition. Outside of the gym and on the sand, Bauer is ranked No. 19 by the Fédération Internationale de Volleyball as a junior player.
Personal:
Anne-Sophie Bauer is from Pfastatt, France and is the daughter of Tone and Jean-Luc Bauer. Her father was a professional volleyball player and her older sister, Christina, currently plays professionally in Turkey. Bauer is majoring in business administration.
