Biography
Clayton played in 57 games in two years at Pacific, starting 28 games. She shot 49.7 percent from the field, hitting 96-of-193 attempts, including 51 percent from inside the three-point arc. She scored 241 points with 279 rebounds, while blocking 24 shots and adding 23 steals in 15.5 minutes per game.
Clayton signed with Olympiakos Volou 1937, in the Greece A-2 League.
2016-17 (Senior):
Played in all 31 games with 18 starts in her senior season. Clayton averaged 3.7 points and 4.3 rebounds per game. She registered a season-high 11 points in the Tigers'' win over San Diego (Jan. 5) in which se turned in a perfect 5-for-5 shooting performance. Grabbed a career-high 13 rebounds against Loyola Marymount (Feb. 25). Recored five or more rebounds 11 times. Clayton shot 48.4 percent from the field (44-of-91), and 49.4 percent from inside the three-point arc. Hit 4-of-5 from the field for eight points against Gonzaga (Feb. 18).
2015-16 (Junior)
In her first year with the Tigers, Mauriana Clayton averaged 4.9 points and 5.6 rebounds per game in 26 games. She started 10 games and turned in three double-doubles while shooting 51 percent from the field (52-of-102). Clayton came off the bench to score 10 point with 11 rebounds in the Tigers’ win at North Carolina (Nov. 25) earning her first double-double in just 19 minutes. She grabbed a season-high 12 rebounds at Arizona (Dec. 5), and added 10 boards and six points against San Jose State (Dec. 12) and 11 rebounds and seven points against Stanislaus State (Dec. 15). Tallied 10 points with six boards at Portland (Jan. 21) posted her second double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds at Pepperdine (Feb. 13). Her third double-double gave her two in a row, with a season-high 13 points on 6-of-7 shooting and 10 rebounds against Portland (Feb. 18). Blocked a season-best two shots against Saint Mary’s (Jan. 16) and grabbed a season-best two steals against Stanislaus State (Dec. 15).
Prior To Pacific (Central Arizona):
Mauriana Clayton, a 6-2, forward joined Pacific from Central Arizona College, where she averaged 7.1 points and 6.0 rebounds per game in helping the Vaqueras to a 25-5 record last season. She shot 54 percent from the field for the season, while hitting 78 percent from the line. Clayton also registered 24 steals with 13 blocks as the Vaqueras advanced to the NJCAA National Tournament.
As a freshman, Clayton averaged 8.5 points and 7.6 rebounds per game as in 2013-14. She shot 41 percent from the field while posted 32 steals and 23 blocks. She ranked eighth in the conference in rebounds per game, second in offensive rebounds per game, and ninth in free throw shooting as the Vaqueras posted a 33-4 record.
