Biography
2019-20 (Junior):
Appeared in 30 of 31 games as a sub, averaging 1.9 points per game. Scored a career-high 12 points in Pacific's season-opening Preseason WNIT win over UMKC (11/8) on 4-of-5 shooting and 4-of-4 from three.Â
2018-19 (Sophomore):
Newman played in 31 of 32 games with 25 starts, averaging 3.8 points and two rebounds in 22.4 minutes per game. Scored a season-high 11 points against Gonzaga (1/5) on 3-of-6 shooting from downtown. Also tallied a season-high six assists in a win over Portland (1/3).
2017-18 (Freshman):
Newman played 27 games for Pacific, averaging 9.4 minutes per game. She played a season-high 24 minutes against Northern Colorado (12/3) and scored a season-high nine points against Portland (3/1) in the first round of the West Coast Conference Championships.
High School:
A 6-0 guard from Simi Valley, California, Isabel Newman is a four-year varsity starter at Chaminade College Prep. She helped the Eagles to a Open Division CIF State Championship as a junior and a No. 1 overall national ranking. She earned All-League accolades, being named to the Los Angeles Athletic Association Second Team. As a sophomore, she was also Second Team All-ALAA, helpeding Chaminade to a Division II State Championship runner-up finish. As a freshman, she was the Chaminade Prep Freshman Athlete of the Year as a starter on the varsity team. Chaminade won the Division II State Championship while Newman earned the team''s Most Improved award. She also played JV volleyball as a freshman and won the best offensive player award before focusing on basketball. Played club basketball with West Coast Premier and a season with Cal Swish EYBL at the Nike Nationals.
