2009-10 (Sophomore):
All season long Thompson stepped up for Pacific, finishing the regulation season as the team''s top scorer. The sophomore averaged 11.1 points and 4.3 rebounds per game in 19.3 minutes played off the bench. In Big West play, Christina only got better as she finished with 11.5 points per game and 6.5 rebounds. Her most impressive showing of the season took place in only the second conference game of the year, tallying a career and team-high 30 points against Cal State Fullerton back on Jan. 4. One game prior to that, she established a then-career high with 23 points and three blocks in Pacific''s 76-70 overtime victory on the road at Cal State Northridge. During that road trip Thompson shot .480 from the field and .615 from free throw line, while averaging 20.0 points and 5.0 rebounds per contest to snag her first career Big West Player of the Week honor. After an impressive sophomore campaign, Thompson led Pacific''s Big West All-Conference honorees as her name landed on the Honorable Mention list and she was also recognized by her peers with a Big West Conference Specialty Award as the Sixth Woman of the Year. Thompson became the first Tiger to do so since Gillian d''Hondt won the award during the 2003-04 season.2008-09 (Freshman):
In limited action in her first season at Pacific, Thompson played in nine games, averaging 5.8 minutes per contest. Playing behind a deep veteran front court, Thompson averaged 2.0 points and 1.4 rebounds in her time on the hardwood. Continuing to progress throughout the year, Christina''s best showing of the season came against the conference''s best team in the UC Santa Barbara Gauchos as the freshman forward scored a season-high six points in just seven minutes of work on the road on January 24. Previously, Thompson had grabbed a season-best four rebounds against UC Riverside on January 10 when Pacific traveled to play the Highlanders in Riverside, Calif.High School:
A 2008 graduate of Capital Christian in Sacramento, Calif., Thompson joined the Tigers'' front court after four outstanding seasons on the court for the Cougars. A three-time Golden Empire League MVP and All-California State team member, Thompson finished her four seasons with a career double-double average of 11.8 points and 10.9 rebounds per game while posting 401 career blocks. In four seasons, Thompson broke six school records including: career field goals made (584), career field goal percentage (51%), free throws made (249), points scored (1,417), offensive rebounds (443), and defensive rebounds (697). Off the court, Thompson was a four-time member of both the Dean''s List and the Honor Roll at Capital Christian.Personal:
Born in Stockton, Calif., Christina Thompson is the daughter of Connie Fields and Gary Thompson. She has five siblings, Carmell, Chrystal, Christopher and a set of fraternal twins, Corinthian and Charissa. In her second year at Pacific, Christina has yet to decide on a major plan of study.
