Biography
Callie Owens transferred to North Texas after her freshman season.
2016-17 (Freshman):
Owens played in 27 games and made one start. She averaged 5.8 points per game while hitting 33 three-pointers. She scored in double-figures in scoring six times. Posted career-highs with 20 points against Pepperdine (Feb. 4) on six made three-pointers, with a career-best seven rebounds. Scored 14 points against UC Merced (Nov. 13), and added 10 against Marquette (Nov. 26). Adde 12 points against Fresno State (Dec. 10), and 11 each ion games against San Diego (Feb. 9) and Santa Clara (Feb. 23). Blocked two shots at Portland (Dec. 29), and recorded two steals on two occasions: against CSU Bakersfield (Dec. 4) and Long Beach State (Dec. 7). Handed out a season-high three assists against Marquette (Nov. 26) and again at Santa Clara (Feb. 11).
High School:
Callie Owens is a 5-10 guard from Plano, Texas. She was a First Team All-League Selection in 2015 as a junior at Plano West High School. She averaged 11 points per game for the Wolves as a junior, helping the team to a 30-5 overall record, and a 16-0 league mark. Owens earned District Newcomer of the Year honors in 2014, helping the Wolves to a 27-5 record and Plano West''s second-ever appearance in the State Tournament, where they advanced to the semifinals. Owens'' top career game came against Euless Trinity in the area playoffs, when she scored 20 points on five made threes, with 10 rebounds and five assists.
