Biography
Junior (2011-12):
Played all 32 games averaging 5.7 points and 3.6 rebounds per game as a forward off the bench. Shot .504 from the field with a .722 free throw percentage. Hit double-figures in scoring three times. Debuted with seven points in the season opener at Fairfield (Nov. 13). Added six points without missing a shot at No. 4 UConn (Nov. 15). Connected on seven-of-nine from the field for a career-best 14 points at Cal State Bakersfield (Nov. 22). Grabbed a career-high nine rebounds to go with nine points on three-of-three from the field against UC Irvine (Feb. 11). Hit all of her free throws in a game 13 times on the season. Connected on seven-of-eight free throws and finished with 11 points in the Tigers'' win over Eastern Washington (Dec. 19). Hit four-of-six field goals with four free throws in four attempts for 12 points against Long Beach State (Jan. 12). Handed out a career-best two assists against Saint Mary''s (Nov. 19). Recorded two or more steals six times, including a pair against No. 4 UConn (Nov. 15) and a career-best three against UC Davis (Feb. 25). Blocked six shots on the year, one each in six different contests. The Tigers were +20 in point differential with Smith on the floor.
Lane Community College/Idaho State (2009-10, 2010-11):
In 30 games as a sophomore at Lane Community College in Eugene, Oregon, Smith averaged 23.5 points per game, while shooting 47 percent from the field. She also grabbed 11.0 rebounds per game while recording 66 steals and rejecting 28 shots. While playing for the Lady Titans, she led the Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges in scoring and was second in rebounding and helped lead the team to a fourth-place finish in the playoffs.
Smith began her collegiate career at Idaho State, but transferred to Lane after one season, averaging 11.3 minutes in 28 games off the bench for the Bengals.
High School:
Smith attended Willamette High School in Willamette, Oregon, where she helped the Wolverines to two state championships in her four years on varsity. Smith was also was awarded as Oregon School Activities Association 5A Co-Player of the year, while leading her team to a 27-0 record during the 2008-09 season.
