Elliot Thornton enters his second year on the Tigers' Media Relations staff and is the current SID (Sports Information Director) for men's & women's water polo, softball, and swimming and diving. He also serves as the secondary SID for men's golf and men's and women's soccer.
Prior to this, he served as a Media Relations Intern at the University of California Santa Barbara. At UCSB, he was responsible for overseeing men's basketball, men's tennis, women's soccer, and track and field programs. Covered two seasons of men's basketball and the 2017 men's tennis team during their 2017 NCAA Tournament run. The Sacramento, Calif. native also did play-by-play for men's and women's basketball, baseball, and men's soccer as a member of the student-ran radio station, 91.9 KCSB Sports. He also contributed to the local school newspaper, The Daily Nexus, as a sports journalist.
Thornton graduated from UCSB in 2017, finishing with a major in Communication and minor Sport's Management. In his spare time, he enjoys hiking, listening to music, photography, and playing sports.Â
