As a Freshman (2011-12)
Turned in a 4-12 singles record and a 2-8 doubles mark. Earned a No. 5 singles victory against Sacramento State (4/10) and victories at the No. 6 position against UC Davis (1/28), Nevada (3/3) and Purdue (3/16). In doubles, paired with Ivan Castro for a No. 1 win against UC Riverside (4/15) and posted a No. 3 win over Nevada (3/3) with Erik Cederwall.

Personal: Valentim was born in Curitiba, Brazil.  He is the son of Valentim and Regina Goncalves and has two siblings; older sister Jessica and younger brother Paulo.  Before joining theTigers, Valentim was a state tennis champion for several years, and he cracked the top 7 in the Brazilian tennis ranks in 2008; and in 2010 Valentim was the Interclubs State Champion and the Brazilian Federdation Cup Finalist.  Valentim is a business and economics major, and after graduation, he plans to join the professional tennis circuit.  His hobbies include playing sports, traveling, and watching movies.
