Biography
2018-19 (Junior):
Hampton came on down the stretch for the Tigers and played big roles in victories over Cal Poly and Gonzaga. Finished the season with a 3-4 record and went 2-3 in WCC matches. In doubles, he went 3-6 on the season. All three wins came with freshman Josef Southcombe. The two went 3-3 on the season and clinched the doubles point for the Tigers in a match against Gonzaga.
2017-18 (Sophomore):
Hampton competed in six matches, finishing 2-4 in doubles. In the fall, Hampton claimed the Aggie Invite Title in October for the second consecutive year. He defeated Gonzaga’s Simon Homedes in two sets, 6-1 and 7-6 (0). In singles, Hampton played in three matches and finished 0-3.
2016-17 (Freshman)
During his first year with the program, Nathan appeared in five matches for the Tigers. In singles, he went 2-2, including 1-1 in the WCC posting wins over Portland State and Santa Clara. In his five doubles matches, he finished with a 4-1 overall record with teammates Miguel Diaz (2-0), Alex Giannini (1-0), Lance Ngo (1-0) and Bernardo Oliveira (0-1). High School:
Hampton won Oregon''s 5A singles championship in his junior and senior seasons while attending Churchill High School in Eugene. He was ranked 26th in the Pacific Northwest''s 18-year-old division and 13th in the men''s open division. As Churchill''s number one in singles, Hampton went 15-1 last season.
Personal:
Hampton is a National Honors Society member, a Powell Scholar, and a International Baccalaureate Diploma candidate.
