Barajas joins the Tigers' program following an almost two-year run as an independent contractor with the United States Tennis Association. Prior to that, he served as the volunteer assistant at his alma mater Utah State University.
"I am excited to welcome Jaime to our Pacific family," Goodman said. "During his time coaching at the USTA and as a player at Utah State, he demonstrated exceptional passion and work ethic for the development of himself and others. He is not only a great fit for our Pacific culture, but will also lead out student athletes to become better tennis players."
During Barajas' time coaching with Utah State, he assisted student athletes in developing their own game style, designed daily practice plans and strategized certain patters and game plans for the players.
"I would like to thank Robin for believing in my philosophy and giving me this opportunity to lead this new team together," Barajas said. "I truly believe we have a lot of potential this year and we will exceed expectations in the development of these student-athletes. Excited to get to work!"
Barajas' playing career included him receiving the 2016 Moutain West Player of the Year award and broke the school's record for most career singles wins. A native of Woodland Hills, Calif. Barajas is also a fluent Spanish speaker.
