2016 (Senior):
Started in all 19 games for the Tigers, recording a shot in every contest. Paced the Orange and Black in goals with nine, points with 21, shots with 40, and was tied for second with three assists. Cervantes ranked second in the West Coast Conference in goals and points, and was first with four game-winning goals. The Oakland, Calif. native scored his first goal of the year against Sacramento State (Sep. 4), and then went on to register a point in eight-straight contests. The midfielder scored a goal in five-straight games against Grand Canyon (Sep. 18), #11 San Diego State (Sep. 23), Cal State Fullerton (Sep. 25), Georgia State (Oct. 2) and Saint Mary’s (Oct. 9). Cervantes’ performance in the fifth week of the season (two goals in two games) earned him the WCC Player of the Week plaudit. Following the season Cervantes was named to the WCC First Team and earned NSCAA All-Far West First Team honors for his breakout year.
2015 (Junior):
The junior started in nine and appeared in 15 games for the Tigers. Recorded 20 shots, five of which were on goal. Logged shots in 11 of 15 games for the Orange and Black. The Oakland native registered three shots in both contests against Sacramento State (Sept. 18) and Grand Canyon (Sept. 25)
2014 (Sophomore):
Julio Cervantes was named West Coast Conference Honorable Mention as he scored two goals with two assists in 17 games for the Tigers. Made 16 starts while missing one game following a red card. Was sixth on the team in minutes with 1339. Cervantes tallied a goal and an assist in the Tigers'' win over UC Santa Cruz (Sept. 27), as he finished a cross from Jamie Bent for a goal and found Tyson Fox with a through-ball for a helper. Also ripped a goal to the upper right corner from the top of the box against Santa Clara (Nov. 2). Set up a goal against San Francisco (Nov. 13) with a cross into the box to Tyson Fox.
Prior to Pacific (Merritt College):
Cervantes joined Pacific from Merritt College, where the winger was a First Team All-Bay Valley selection and helped the program win the conference title and make the playoffs for the first time in program history. He was also the third-leading goal scorer in California Junior Colleges with 20 goals to go with seven assists.
Personal
Cervantes is the son of Julio Cesar and Juanita Cervantes. He has a younger brother, Oscar, and was born in Guadalajara, Mexico. Cervantes is a Sport Pedagogy major.
