Justin Brown was named an Assistant Coach at Pacific prior to the 2021-22 season. Prior to his role with the Tigers, Brown had 11 years of college coaching experience in successful programs.

"Justin Brown is quickly becoming one of the brightest stars in this business. He's a consummate professional who works tirelessly along with being a great family man," said head men's basketball coach Leonard Perry. "He has been instrumental in the success of UOP Basketball in the past having coached former Tigers' Roberto (Gallinat) and Jahlil (Tripp) both at South Plains JC. He then went on to Eastern Illinois and UMKC as an assistant."
 
Brown came to Pacific after serving the last three seasons on the staff at Eastern Illinois. The Panthers were victorious in 17 games in 2019-20 – the third winning season since 2001 - and reached the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament quarterfinals. While at EIU, he was involved in the development of two-time OVC First-Teamer Josiah Wallace, All-OVC First Team honoree Marvin Johnson, All-OVC Second Team performer Mack Smith and All-OVC Newcomer George Dixon. Brown was briefly on the staff at UMKC this summer prior to making the decision to join the Tigers.  
 
Prior to Eastern Illinois, Brown was an assistant for two years at South Plains College, helping to guide the 2018 team to the NJCAA National Championship and to a 28-8 record. It was his second stint at the college as he also coached there from 2011-13, helping guide the team to the 2012 NJCAA National Championship where they posted a 36-0 mark. In between those stints, he served as an assistant coach at Utah State University-East Utah, where the squad had three straight winning seasons. A total of 34 student-athletes from the teams he mentored landed spots on NCAA Division I rosters.
 
He was also the boy's basketball coach at Perspective Charter High School in Chicago during the 2010-11 season and was an assistant coach at his alma mater, Southwest Baptist, for the 2009-10 year. He played two seasons at Southwest Baptist, helping the squad to back-to-back MIAA titles in 2008 and 2009. A 2009 Southwest Baptist graduate, he started his college career at South Plains. The Chicago native is a graduate of Robeson High School.
