Member of the WCC All-Conference Second Team... Started in all 34 games she appeared in this season and averaged 12.5 points per game, 3.6 rebounds per game and 4.6 assists per game while playing 32.4 minutes per game... Reached the 500 career assist milestone at Yale (11/24/24), the 200 steal milestone against San Diego (2/13/25), 500 rebound milestone against Washington State (12/30/24)... Scored 22 points against Oregon State (12/5/24) to lead the Tigers to their first win in program history over OSU... Followed that up with 24 against Oregon State (1/25/25) to again defeat the Beavers... Finally scored 30 points against Washington State (3/9/25) at the WCC Conference Tournament Quarterfinals... Notched double-double (15 pts, 11 reb) at Portland (12/21/24) and versus Long Beach State (14 pts, 10 reb) (11/15/24)... 2023-24 (Junior)
Named to WCC All-Conference First Team. Lone Tiger this season to start in all 34 games. Shot .445 from the field, .383 at the three-point line. Led Pacific in free throw percentage with .927. Team and WCC assists per game leader with 5.9. Second leading scorer for the Tigers with 12.1 points per game. Led the Tigers in defensive rebounds with 133 and had the second highest in total rebounds with 156. Notched 25 double-figure and four 20+ point performances. Led in assists in 25 games. Posted three double doubles including back-to-back in the final two regular season games against San Diego (Feb. 29) and Santa Clara (Mar. 2). Scored season-high 23 points twice at Santa Clara (Jan. 6) and against Gonzaga in the WCC semifinals (Mar. 11). Registered 1,000th career point and 400th career assist against Santa Clara (Mar. 2). Notched a season-high 10 assists three times. Grabbed season-high 10 rebounds against LMU (Jan. 11). Earned 100th career steal against Columbia (Dec. 31).Â
2022-23 (Sophomore)
Anaya played in 27 games as a sophomore, averaging 10.4 points per game and 4.3 rebounds. She was ranked number three in the WCC for assists. James recorded her 2nd career triple-double with 21 points, 12 assists, and 10 rebounds against Academy of Arts (Nov. 22). In addition, she set career bests in steals (7), assists (12), rebounds (13), free throws (8), threes (6), blocks (3), and minutes played (40). Anaya James reached 500 career points in 36 games and led the team in career points.
2021-22 (Freshman)
Seven-time WCC Freshman of the Week. Named to WCC All Freshman Team and All-WCC Honorable Mention. Played in 28 games, starting 27. Led the team in points per game, averaging 13.6, while also averaging 4.9 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game. Scored in double figures 21 times during the regular season and tallied a career-high 31 points against Oregon State on November 22. Recorded a double-double on November 17 against CSU Bakersfield with 20 points and 10 assists. Recorded her first career triple-double on January 31 against Santa Clara with 13 points, 13 rebounds, and 10 assists.
High School
James will join the Tigers following a remarkable career at West High School in Torrance, Calif... In her first three years with the Warriors, the 5'9" point guard has proved to be a force to be reckoned with, garnering awards and accomplishments across the state. Overall, James is a 3x time Pioneer League Champion, 3x Team MVP, 2x Pioneer League MVP and a member of the 1,000+ point, 500+ assist and 500+ rebound club at West. Additionally, she also captured a CIF State Championship her freshman season and was named the Daily Breeze Player of the Year her junior year, which earned her spots on the All-CIF First Team and All-State Second Team in 2019-20. Similarly to Dunka, James has led the Warriors to a flawless 30-0 record in conference play throughout her three years.
