Dr. Koesterer (TK) arrived at Pacific in June, 2017 to start a new Master’s of Science in Athletic Training, with an initial class beginning summer 2018. TK brings 30+ years of experience as a certified athletic trainer, with 15 of those years as an Athletic Training Program Director at SUNY Cortland and Humboldt State University.
Prior to being a Program Director, Dr. Koesterer was the Head Athletic Trainer in the Department of Physical Education at the United States Military Academy – West Point. He earned his Ph.D. in Exercise Physiology at the University of Florida, Master’s in Athletic Training/Exercise Physiology at the University of Buffalo, and Bachelor’s in Physical Education with a concentration in Athletic Training at SUNY Cortland.
Dr. Koesterer is a Site Visitor for the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE), regularly attends regional and national athletic training conferences, has attended state and national Hit-the-Hill days to support athletic training related legislation, and looks forward to again becoming active in the California Athletic Trainers’ Association (CATA) and the Far West Athletic Trainers’ Association (FWATA).
TK resides in Stockton with his wife, Adrienne and two of their children, Lexie and Dane, while their eldest son, Marcus, attends college at SUNY Environmental, Science and Forestry.
