Cory Riecks was named a member of the Pacific women’s volleyball coaching staff in May of 2018.

Riecks joined Pacific following a five-year stint as the assistant coach for the Northern California Volleyball Club (NCVC) in Sacramento, Calif. There he helped the Club to three-consecutive 17-win seasons as well as three-straight USAV Jr. National Open Division appearances.

The Northern California native began his volleyball career in Malibu, Calif. at Pepperdine University, where he was a four-year starter for the Waves from 2008-2011. During his debut season, Riecks started in all 28 matches, helping hit team to a first place finish in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) finish and eventual Conference crown. He won MPSF All-Freshman honors.  Rieks would go on to earn AVCA All-American and All-MPSF as a junior (2010). 

He concluded his collegiate career ranked 13th all-time in Pepperdine history with 1,143 kills. He also held single-match, career-highs of 17 kills and eight digs.

Riecks graduated from Pepperdine with a Bachelor of Arts in political science and then received his Master’s degree in coaching and sport psychology through the University of Missouri. 

Following his time with the Waves, Riecks began his professional career with the Ingersoll Bühl club team in Bühl, Germany. He would go on to play two seasons with the Bisons, finishing third overall in the 1st Bundesliga League. Riecks then went on to play for the Raison Loimu Club (Raiso, Finland)  before settling with VK Ostrava, located in the Czech Republic, during the 2014-15 season. That season Riecks helped his team to a Czech Pokal Cup Championships where he earned Tournament MVP honors. Riecks spent the next season Teruel, Spain, where he helped CV Teruel to a runner-up finish in the 2016 Superlinga and second place in the Copa del Rey Tournament. That same year the CV Teruel team became the first in club history to advance to the Challenge Round of the CEV Cup (Confédération Européenne de Volleyball). 

Riecks finished out his professional career with the Caribes de San Sebastian Club (San Sebastian, Puerto Rico) where his team finished second in the 2017 LVSM (Liga de Voleibol Superior Masculino) 1st League. Riecks was named to the 2017 LVSM All-Star team that season.

Reicks is originally from Auburn, Calif. and has three siblings — Kasey, Kirby, and Cody.
