Biography
2016-17 (Sophomore):
Saw action in 19 games for the Tigers, five of which were starts. Averaged 1.6 points and 1.4 rebounds per game. Tied his career high with eight points in the 102-54 victory over Pacific Union (Dec. 23). Started against #6 Gonzaga, recording 20 minutes in the contest. Set a new career-high in rebounds with seven against Loyola Marymount (Jan. 26). Logged a career-high 30 minutes in the win over San Diego (Jan. 5).
2015-16 (Freshman):
Max appeared in five contests for the Tigers off the bench in his first year at Pacific. He would score 15 points including tallying a season-best eight points against Bethesda. In the game, Max went 4-for-7 from the field as part of his 7-for-12 shooting on the year. He would add three rebounds and one steal to his season totals.
High School:
Max graduated from Chaminade High School in 2014 after earning three varsity letters for the Eagles. As a senior playing alongside of Tiger teammate Jack Williams, Max helped lead the Eagles to a CIF State Championship as Chaminade defeated Drake, 71-51, in the title game. As a senior, Max played in all 33 games for the Eagles, averaging 3.6 points and 3.4 rebounds per game. The year prior to their championship run, Tinsley and the Eagles just missed playing for the Division III title as they made it to the semifinal matchup before falling just short of the title contest.
Personal:
Max is the son of Mandi and Brad Tinsley. He has one sibling, Zoe. Tinsley is a Business Administration major with a concentration in Marketing
