Biography
2015-16 (Junior):
Playing in 27 of 28 games with seven starts, David averaged 3.7 points and 1.3 rebounds in 15.3 minutes per game. He would go for double-digits twice on the year including scoring 11 points against Cal State Fullerton and 13 points against BYU while going 5-for-7 from the floor. In addition to his scoring against Cal State Fullerton, David dished out a career-best five assists against the Titans on Nov. 17 in Pacific''s home opener.
2014-15 (Sophomore):
David saw 31 games and 25 game starts for the Tigers during the 2014-15 season. David had a career-high 20 points at Loyola Marymount on January 1. David is averaging 7.9 points per game. He hit five three-pointers in scoring 18 points against both Gonzaga and Portland on February 19 and February 21. He has a career-high four rebound against San Digeo on January 17. David has 12 double figure scoring games on the year.
2013-14 (Freshman):
David played in 27 games for the Tigers in 20131-14, averaging 9.4 minutes per game. After scoring just two points in the first eight games, Taylor had a breakout game at Gonzaga on Jan. 4, scoring 10 points with an assist and a steal. He had three double figure games on the season, saving the best for last with an 18 point, three rebound performance (both career highs) at Murray State in the semifinals of the CIT on April 1. Taylor avergaged 4.4 points per game in the final 19 games.
High School:
Taylor is a 6-2 guard from Eckersdorf, Germany. He attended Graf-Muenster Gymnasium in Bayreuth, Germany. David averaged 19.2 points, 3.2 assists and 2.2 steals per game for BBC Bayreuth in 2011. He has also played for NBC Neurnberg (Pro A), Brose Baskets Bamberg (Pro B and NBBL). With a strong game in his early teens, David was selected to a Bavarian All-Star Team in 2007 and to Germany''s 2010 U16 National Team as the only player selected at age 15. Getting quite a bit of international experience, he played in the 2010 U16 European Championship in Montenegro and the 2011 championship in Prague. He was most recently on the 2012 U18 National Team, the only player selected at age 17. His father is Derrick Taylor, who helped LSU to the NCAA Final Four and was selected in the 1986 NBA Draft by the Indiana Pacers.
