Biography
Junior (2011-12):
Johnson played in all 32 games, averaging 1.7 points and 2.8 rebounds in an average of 12.9 minutes per contest. Grabbed five or more rebounds seven times, including a career-high seven at UC Davis in the Big West Quarterfinals (Mar. 6). Excelled on the offensive glass as 52 of her 91 rebounds on the season were offensive boards. Grabbed four offensive boards on three occasions, including her debut against Fairfield (Nov. 13), at Cal State Fullerton (Feb. 4) and against UC Irvine (Feb. 11). Handed out 20 assists on the year, including four games with multiple helpers. Dished out three assists, her season high, against Southern Illinois Edwardsville (Nov. 26). Three of her four blocks on the season came in the same game, as she rejected three shots at Cal State Fullerton (Feb. 4). Posted 20 steals, including a season-best three against Long Beach State (Jan. 12). Drained three three-pointers on the season, including one against Arizona State in Pacific''s first round WNIT victory.
At Central Arizona:
In 34 games as a sophomore at Central Arizona, Johnson averaged 9.3 points per game while shooting 46 percent from the field. She added 6.2 rebounds and 1.4 assists per contest while racking up 52 steals and 18 blocks. Hit double-figures in scoring 17 times, including a season-high 17 points against Chandler-Gilbert Community College on Nov. 10, and again on Jan. 26. Posted a double-double against College of Eastern Utah with 14 points and a season-high 11 rebounds. Recorded a season-high four steals against Phoenix College twice (Jan. 8 and Feb. 16)
As a freshman, she averaged 6.8 PPG, shooting 50.3 percent while connecting on 15 of 24 three-pointers (62.5 percent). She also chipped in 6.0 rebounds per contest, 1.7 assists and 1.7 steals in 31 games.
High School:
At Mitchell High School in Colorado, Johnson was the 5A Metro Player of the Year runner-up as a junior and a state All-Star as a senior.
She earned The Gazette’s high school Athlete of the Week honors in 2008 after scoring 41 points in a victory over Palmer and hitting a game-winning three pointer against Doherty. Also ran track (100 meter high hurdles, long jump) for the Marauders.
