STOCKTON, Calif. – The Pacific men's soccer program continues its non-conference slate, hitting the road for a pair of contests this week, beginning on Thursday at Sacramento State at 4 p.m. from Hornet Field and concluding on Sunday at Cal Baptist at 3 p.m. from CBU Soccer Stadium.

The Tigers (1-4-2) look to brush off a setback against CSUN last weekend and look ahead to taking advantage of two new opportunities at the Hornets (1-5) and the Lancers (3-2).

Pacific has a trio of players on its squad who have made their mark offensively in different matches this year in sophomore Josephat Yangyuoru, freshman Xavier Cisneros and freshman Fateh Singh.

Yangyuoru paces Pacific with a team-high two goals, five points and seven shots on target. The native of Ghana scored a brace in the 3-3 draw against UC Davis during the home opener and has played over 70 minutes each of the next four matches since then.

Speaking of braces, Cisneros earned a brace of his own in the Tigers' last road match at San Jose State. Cisneros scored a late goal off a penalty kick attempt to grant his team a 2-2 draw with the Spartans. Singh was the spark for the Tigers in the opening road trip of the 2026 campaign, notching a pair of goals in the first two matches in Utah.

Defensively, graduate student Mateus Ruiz-Hurst has started the last four matches, sporting a 2.25 GAA with 22 saves in his efforts guarding the goal. Sophomore Alejandro Caracheo Luna started the first three matches of the calendar year, including earning the Tigers' lone victory over Utah Tech in 2026.

Sacramento State also has just one victory this season through non-conference play, defeating UC Davis in its home opener by a 3-1 margin. Since then, the Hornets have scored just two goals in their last five matches, including four straight on the road.

Sean Battistessa has scored two goals for the Hornets, accompanied by Zac Giles' team-high three assists and five points. Lucas Bost has started every minute in goal for Sacramento State with a 1.50 GAA and 24 saves.

Pacific and Sacramento State have met every year (excluding 2020 for COVID-19 pandemic) since 2015. The Tigers seek their first victory in the state capital since 2017 where they outscored their opposition, 2-0.

Cal Baptist wraps up Pacific's week down south in Riverside. The Lancers will play Grand Canyon in Phoenix prior to hosting the Tigers. CBU has faced three other WCC foes this year already, going 2-1-0 in that stretch with wins over Denver and LMU.

Blake D'agostino leads the Lancers with four goals and 17 shot attempts across five matches. Ulrik Stroem owns the lion's share of starts in goal with a 1.00 GAA and a pair of wins in 2026.

The Tigers and Lancers will meet for the first time ever in their respective program histories.

Both matches this week can be viewed live on ESPN+ for both daytime kick-offs.
