BERKELEY, Calif. – A tough night offensively proved too much for the Pacific men's water polo team to overcome, ultimately dropping the 18-7 decision to fourth ranked Cal on Friday night at Spieker Aquatics Complex.

The Tigers (3-3) were unable to sustain many runs on the night, only once sustaining a run of multiple goals in a row – which came at the end of the first quarter to draw the match within one at 4-3. However, from there a 4-0 Cal (5-0) run put Pacific in a deficit it would prove unable to claw back from.

Despite the collective tough outing, sophomore Borisz Kasa-Gal was able to produce a well-rounded final stat line of three goals, two assists and a steal. He was the only Tiger on the night to find the back of the net multiple times as fellow sophomores Brody Biedermann and Petar Popovic alongside junior Yoav Rendler and freshman Marc Comabella each contributed a goal.

Freshman Gabor Holl, while unable to score himself, set his teammates up nicely by assisting on two of the seven goals.

Meanwhile, the Golden Bears' offense in rhythm, converting 18 of 36 shot attempts and garnering assists on 12 of those 18 goals. The defense was also active, finishing with 12 steals to Pacific's four.

Pacific has a quick turnaround, returning to the friendly waters of Chris Kjeldsen Pool on Sunday to host No. 3 Stanford at 1 P.M. That match will be broadcast on ESPN+.
